It was a good run, but Mater Academy East Las Vegas unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moapa Valley Pirates. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Pirates from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Telisha Sayles was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot, having also posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-5. As for Moapa Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Mater Academy East Las Vegas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-3 victory against Western on the 4th. As for Moapa Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-2 win against Del Sol on the 1st.
