Basketball Game Preview: North Olmsted Eagles vs. Steele Comets

North Olmsted is 0-10 against Steele since November of 2017 but things could change on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Comets at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North Olmsted is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Normandy on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Eagles were dealt a 57-30 loss at the hands of the Invaders. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 595th, while the Invaders are ranked 257th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kayla Hartman, who posted six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giuliana Sharp, who had seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Steele lost 51-29 to Avon on Saturday. The Comets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

North Olmsted's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Steele, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

North Olmsted came up short against Steele in their previous matchup back in January of 2021, falling 48-35. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
