Baseball Recap: Cooper Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Cooper took on Walton-Verona on Thursday. The Jaguars came up short against the Bearcats, falling 11-4. The Jaguars have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Cooper saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brogan Scott, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Ryker Campbell was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Cooper's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Walton-Verona, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-12.

Coming up, Cooper will head out on the road to face off against Highlands at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bluebirds have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Walton-Verona, they will be playing at home against Bourbon County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
