Leon owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over the North Florida Christian Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Eagles back in March, they had to take a 15-2 loss.

The result came thanks to Lamonika Sims's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Jailyn Nickeo was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for North Florida Christian, they dropped their record down to 9-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Leon wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Mosley on the 11th. As for North Florida Christian, they have also already played their next game, a 6-3 win against Taylor County on the 14th.
