Softball Recap: Unioto Comes Up Short

Unioto was the 9-8 winner over Westfall when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Shermans fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 10-9 on Wednesday.

Mackenzie Welch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Maddie Tuttle was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Unioto's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Westfall, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Unioto will face off against Miami Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Shermans are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Westfall, they will take on Southeastern at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
