Basketball Recap: Swain County Comes Up Short

If Swain County was riding high fresh off their 76-47 takedown of Summit Charter last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Swain County Maroon Devils fell 67-59 to the Highlands Highlanders on Thursday. The Maroon Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Highlanders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Swain County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Highlands, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Swain County will welcome Nantahala at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Swain County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three matchups. As for Highlands, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Murphy at 8:00 p.m.
