Skyline took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Sherando, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Skyline Hawks had just enough and edged out the Sherando Warriors 10-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the game before.

Carleigh Baugher was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Kyleigh Williams was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Skyline back to even at 1-1. As for Sherando, their record now sits at 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Skyline Hawks challenge Fauquier Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sherando, they will head out on the road to square off against Clarke County at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Sherando has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
