Basketball Recap: Schaumburg Christian Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four games, Schaumburg Christian finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They took a blow against the North Shore Country Day Raiders, falling 67-30. The matchup marked the Conquerors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Schaumburg Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Joshua Caprariu and Arnold Wicen. Caprariu posted five points, while Wicen scored five points. Thanks to that strong game, Wicen now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Alex Tatum also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

With the defeat, Schaumburg Christian broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for North Shore Country Day, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Schaumburg Christian and North Shore Country Day will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Conquerors see the court they'll take on Westlake Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for North Shore Country Day, their break will end when they face Fasman Yeshiva at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
