Basketball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 53-39 to the Marietta Blue Devils. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Blue Devils this season, with their most recent loss being a 63-58 defeat back in January.

Marietta found their leader in freshman Leah DeWitt, who went 8 for 15 on her way to 28 points and three blocks. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which DeWitt has scored at least a third of Marietta's points. Kyann Senior was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Marietta, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Wheeler nor Marietta have any future games scheduled.
