Baseball Recap: Collins Hill Takes a Loss

Collins Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Buford Wolves. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Noah Alvarado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Collins Hill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Borahn Ly, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Collins Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Buford, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Collins Hill will square off against Mountain View at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Collins Hill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Buford, they will host Central Gwinnett at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Central Gwinnett has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.27 runs per game on average), something Buford will no doubt try to take advantage of.
