Layton faced Ogden in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Ogden who was credited with the win. Ogden got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Layton Lancers' four. Layton's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Cody Miller and Rudy Jensen scored both of Layton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Layton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Ogden, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

Layton will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Farmington at 3:30 p.m. on the 26th. This will be Layton's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Ogden, they have already played their next contest, a 9-1 win against South Summit on the 17th.
