Volleyball Recap: Dover Starts off Right with Win over Perry

Dover had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Perry Panthers on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crimson Tornadoes have posted against the Panthers since October 12, 2017.

Dover had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 19-25, 25-19, 25-13.

Dover was led to victory by Chera Schmidt and Lainie Keith. Schmidt had 14 digs and three assists, while Keith had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Schmidt has posted since back in September of 2024.

Coincidentally, Dover and Perry will both be playing Meadowbrook the next time they take the court. The Crimson Tornadoes will host the Colts at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
