League recap: Dayton extends winning streak with victory over Horizon Christian

Dayton extended the longest winning streak in 3A West Valley this week by beating Horizon Christian, 57-38. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Pirates.

Willamina took down Colton 42-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyson Jahn ran for 153 yards in the win.

The Bulldogs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Trevor Hunt threw for 76 yards and Travis Fox had 35 yards receiving. Travis Kurz helped Willamina's passing attack out by catching one ball for 27 yards.

Willamina's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hunt has thrown for 417 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Kurz has nine catches for 156 yards. Jahn leads the league in rushing with 752 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Willamina takes on the Hawks. Tim France's team is in second place, while Horizon Christian is in fourth place.

Dayton led 3A West Valley in scoring this week after putting up 57 points on George Crace's team.
