Baseball Recap: Dixie Comes Up Short

Dixie fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Abbeville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Abbeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Dixie will square off against Belton-Honea Path at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Abbeville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
