Baseball Recap: Fishers' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Fishers dropped their record down to 16-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Carmel Greyhounds by a score of 8-7. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Greyhounds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Fishers got a big performance out of Jase Ruggles, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Zander Carnahan, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

As for Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games.

On Carmel's side, Nathan Rodgers looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rodgers has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fishers will take on Avon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Carmel, they will square off against McCutcheon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
