Softball Recap: Yorktown Triumphs

Yorktown won the last time they faced Northeastern and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers came out on top against the Knights by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Olivia Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Yorktown got a big performance out of Abbey Booher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Holmes, who earned one run and four stolen bases.

Yorktown's record now sits at 15-4. As for Northeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Coming up, Yorktown will square off against Cathedral at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northeastern, they will challenge Daleville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
