The Ayala Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Etiwanda Eagles at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Ayala barely beat Carter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Thursday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Not much got past Ashlyn Hames, who gave up just three hits to keep Carter off the board. Hames has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ayala let Jayden Tamura and Mariah Holguin run wild. Tamura went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Holguin went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Holguin a new career-high. Madison Caganap was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Etiwanda got the win against Cajon on Thursday by a conclusive 13-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Dailynn Battee was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mia Diaz, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Etiwanda hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matchups.
Ayala's record is now 4-1. As for Etiwanda, their record now sits at 5-1.
Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ayala has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Etiwanda struggles in that department as they've averaged .503. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Ayala's way against Etiwanda in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Ayala made off with a 12-4 victory. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
