Basketball Recap: Newton Falls Short of Teutopolis in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Newton couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 64-56 to the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wooden Shoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-46 back in December of 2024.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Teutopolis, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 24-8.

Newton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Teutopolis, they will square off against Mt. Carmel at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Carmel will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Teutopolis surely won't give up without a fight.
