Baseball Game Preview: Arp Tigers vs. Tatum Eagles

Arp is 0-8 against Tatum since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Arp Tigers will head out to take on the Tatum Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arp had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Cumberland Academy on Friday. Everything went Arp's way against Cumberland Academy as Arp made off with a 10-3 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Arp got a big performance out of Caden Cliborn, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Cliborn posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Alex Ponce also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Arp always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Saturday. Tatum narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past New Diana 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Tatum has posted since April 16, 2024.

Logen Tovar looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grant Adcock, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristin Berry, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Tatum is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. Arp's record now sits at 4-8-1.
