Baseball Recap: Mckeel Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

McKeel Academy entered their tilt with Wiregrass Ranch on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls 3-1. That's two games straight that the Wildcats have won by exactly two runs.

The result came thanks to Caleb Clanton's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brock Spurgeon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. Aedan Tompkins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

McKeel Academy's record now sits at 4-2. As for Wiregrass Ranch, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
