Softball Game Preview: Douglas Eagles vs. Appalachian Eagles

Douglas will face off against Appalachian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Douglas got the win against Guntersville by a conclusive 17-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Appalachian took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They came out on top against Cleveland by a score of 5-2.

Tori Atkinson looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Graci McGuire was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Trinity Day, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Douglas came out on top in a nail-biter against Appalachian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Douglas repeat their success, or does Appalachian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
