Volleyball Game Preview: Aptos Mariners vs. Soquel Knights

The Aptos Mariners will head out to square off against the Soquel Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Aptos is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Aptos managed to slip by San Lorenzo Valley the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Aptos came up short against San Lorenzo Valley on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-16.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Soquel's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Santa Cruz.

Soquel was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-15, 25-17.

Aptos' loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Soquel, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Aptos suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Soquel when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Aptos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
