Softball Recap: Boyne Falls Comes Up Short

Boyne Falls lost to Mackinaw City back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Loggers came up short against the Comets, falling 13-7. The Loggers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elleana Loper was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Logann Brown, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Boyne Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mackinaw City, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.

Boyne Falls will look to defend their home field on Friday against Onaway at 2:00 p.m. As for Mackinaw City, they will head out on the road to challenge Pellston at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.83 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
