Football Recap: Adam Bywater and Tommy Olson Pace Olympus Defense

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Woods Cross, Olympus was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 35-28 victory over the Bountiful Redhawks. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Olympus didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adam Bywater and Tommy Olson. Olson also made six total tackles, which is notable because Olympus is 2-1 when he posts at least four total tackles, but 3-4 otherwise. Mark Petersen was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks, forcing one fumble, and making nine total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Bountiful's loss came despite strong showings from Siaki Fekitoa and Hudson Malmrose. Fekitoa rushed for 97 yards and one score on only 12 carries, while Malmrose rushed for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Olympus' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5. As for Bountiful, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Olympus will host Cyprus at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Bountiful, they will welcome Clearfield at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th.
