Basketball Game Preview: Monmouth-Roseville Titans vs. Illini West Chargers

Monmouth-Roseville hasn't had much luck against Illini West recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Monmouth-Roseville Titans will challenge the Illini West Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

On Saturday, Monmouth-Roseville got the win against Brimfield by a conclusive 62-42. The Titans pushed the score to 50-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Illini West made easy work of Farmington on Thursday and carried off a 49-26 victory. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Monmouth-Roseville has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Illini West, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Monmouth-Roseville couldn't quite finish off Illini West in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 39-37. Can Monmouth-Roseville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
