Baseball Game Preview: Slaughter Community Charter Knights vs. Liberty Magnet Patriots

Slaughter Community Charter hasn't had much luck against Liberty Magnet recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Knights will challenge the Patriots at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Slaughter Community Charter has four straight wins, Liberty Magnet has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Slaughter Community Charter's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over East Feliciana.

Meanwhile, Liberty Magnet lost 12-3 to Central on Thursday.

Liberty Magnet saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Seth Trosclair, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Slaughter Community Charter pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Liberty Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Slaughter Community Charter couldn't quite get it done against Liberty Magnet in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 24-21. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
