 With a playoff game on the line, Village Christian rose to the challenge  on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Brentwood School Eagles by a score of  8-4. Eight seems to be a good number for Village Christian as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 The team  relied heavily on  Ethan Tibert, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI.
 On Brentwood School's side,  Max Rice was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  3.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). Rice was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-2 with a  home run and four  RBI.
 Even though they lost, Brentwood School  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 11  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Village Christian only tossed seven.
 Village Christian has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 11 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record  this season. As for Brentwood School, their loss  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 11-7.
 Village Christian will take on West Covina at 3:15  p.m.  on Friday. Village Christian's pitching crew has only allowed four  runs per game  this season, so West Covina's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Brentwood School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
