Volleyball Game Preview: St. Charles Cardinals vs. Beavercreek Beavers

The St. Charles Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Beavercreek Beavers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

St. Charles is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Bishop Watterson, who was ranked 19th at the time (St. Charles was ranked 15th). The Cardinals came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cardinals.

St. Charles got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 23-25, 36-34, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Beavercreek made easy work of Wayne on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

St. Charles pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Beavercreek, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Everything went St. Charles' way against Beavercreek in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as St. Charles made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
