Recap: Brighton Bengals vs. Skyline Eagles
The Brighton Bengals won the last time they faced the Skyline Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Brighton managed a 57-52 victory over the Eagles. The win made it back-to-back wins for Brighton.
Brighton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaxon Soto, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Matheson, who scored 19 points.
When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Shaw. Despite the final result, he scored 20 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Beau Bierman, who scored six points along with six assists.
Brighton's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Skyline, they dropped their record down to 10-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Brighton will square off against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Highland is ranked 13th, while the Bengals are ranked 35th). As for Skyline, they will be playing at home against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
