Basketball Recap: Temple Baptist Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Temple Baptist Academy's game back in January was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They secured a 46-42 W over the Clayton-Bradley Academy Blazers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Royal Crusaders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Adkins, who posted 19 points and four steals. Adkins is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. MJ Brooks was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Temple Baptist Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Clayton-Bradley Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Temple Baptist Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mount Pisgah Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. As for Clayton-Bradley Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Paideia Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clayton-Bradley Academy is facing Paideia Academy at the right time seeing as Paideia Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
