Softball Game Preview: Dexter Bearcats vs. East Carter Redbirds

The Dexter Bearcats will face off against the East Carter Redbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Dexter: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while East Carter has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Dexter is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Richland by a score of 23-18 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bearcats considering their one-run performance the game before.

Meanwhile, East Carter got the win against Salem on Friday by a conclusive 17-4. Considering the Redbirds have won four contests by more than 12 runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Dexter's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for East Carter, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Dexter beat East Carter 10-7 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. Do the Bearcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redbirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
