Baseball Recap: Hurricane Comes Up Short

Hurricane was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 8-2 to the Desert Hills Thunder. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Thunder from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Hurricane got a good showing from Joey Monte, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Monte has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Parker Selby made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Hurricane's record is now 6-11. As for Desert Hills, their win bumped their record up to 17-2.

While Hurricane had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
