Basketball Recap: Fort Frye Now 7-1 over Last Eight Games

Fort Frye extended their postseason success on Saturday against Harvest Prep. They took down the Harvest Prep Warriors 43-29. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Warriors are ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Harvest Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maliyah Lofton, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and five assists. She has been hot recently, having also posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Jordyn Johnson was another key player, putting up ten points and seven rebounds.

Fort Frye is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The loss snapped Harvest Prep's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-14 record.

Coming up, Fort Frye will challenge Rootstown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Rootstown sitting on 16 straight victories and Fort Frye on six. Harvest Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
