Centerville and Hilliard Davidson squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Centerville had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Elks' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Centerville was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hilliard Davidson work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 27-25, 20-25, 25-13.

Grayson Roe paced Centerville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Roe got some help from Michael Philip and his 30 assists.

Hilliard Davidson was led to victory by Liam Rothermel and Logan Buck. Rothermel had four digs and two aces, while Buck had nine digs and three assists. That's the most aces Rothermel has posted since back in April.

Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Hilliard Davidson, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Centerville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hilliard Davidson, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Beavercreek on the 16th.
