Basketball Recap: Ragland Comes Up Short

Ragland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Victory Christian Lions, falling 81-36. The Purple Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.

Victory Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shepard Sargent out in front who went 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Scott, who went 7 of 13 en route to 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Ragland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Victory Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Ragland will venture away from home to take on West End at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victory Christian, they will host Appalachian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
