If Sage Ridge was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Excel Christian two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scorpions came up short against the Smith Valley Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-7, 25-11.

Viola Charles paced Sage Ridge's offense, picking up three kills. Charles were helped by Amelia Litschke and Lauren Sherven, who contributed four assists each. Finally, Sophie Najjar kept Sage Ridge's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Smith Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexie Gray led the charge by getting 14 kills, six digs, three aces, and one block. That's the most aces Gray has posted since back in September. Audrina Banta was another key player, getting 12 digs, nine kills, and three aces.
