Volleyball Recap: Yreka Miners vs. Gridley Bulldogs
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Yreka had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Gridley Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Miners sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Yreka was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (93-91), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-19, 26-24, 27-25.
Bailee Houston paced Yreka's offense, picking up 21 kills. Houston got some help from
Stella Eastman and her 39 assists.
Yreka is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 28-9-1 record this season. As for Gridley, their defeat dropped their record down to 28-6.
Yreka didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against West Valley on the 9th. Gridley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
