Basketball Recap: Osborne Takes a Loss

Osborne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 73-35 loss at the hands of the Thunder Ridge Longhorns. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Evan Slavik continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thunder Ridge, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Slavik is becoming a predictor of Thunder Ridge's success: when he posts at least eight boards the team is 7-3 (and 0-4 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Connor Engelke, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.

Osborne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Thunder Ridge, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Coming up, Osborne will challenge Sylvan-Lucas on Tuesday. Sylvan-Lucas will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Osborne surely won't give up without a fight. As for Thunder Ridge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-35 loss against Tescott on the 14th.
