Softball Recap: McCrory Find Success

McCrory's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cross County Thunderbirds by a score of 6-3. The win continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won seven in a row.

Morgan Stuckey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Stuckey was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Silver Poole, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

McCrory's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cross County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. McCrory will square off against Des Arc at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cross County, they will take on Bay at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunderbirds are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
