The Pace Patriots came up short against the South Walton Seahawks on Tuesday and fell 59-48. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while the Seahawks are ranked 119th).

When it comes to explaining why Pace lost, don't look at Leighton Osborn. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 22 points and 12 boards. The matchup was Osborn's 12th in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Emma Sutton, who posted eight points.

Pace's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for South Walton, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Pace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-45 defeat against Gulf Breeze on the 14th. As for South Walton, they have also already played their next game, a 47-43 loss against Niceville on the 14th.
