Franklin hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They took down the Racine Horlick Rebels 64-49 on Friday. Given the Sabers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Rebels are ranked 383rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Franklin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brenna Nichols, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriella Pritchard, who shot 41% from the field en route to 19 points.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ameri Lawson, who posted 20 points and six rebounds. Lawson continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Brianna Hyde was another key player, going 6-for-12 on her way to 13 points and seven boards.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Racine Horlick, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-23.

Franklin didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-39 win against Milwaukee Bradley Tech on the 28th. As for Racine Horlick, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-45 victory against Milwaukee Riverside on the 25th.
