Basketball Recap: Sparta Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Monroe Academy

There's no place like home for Sparta Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They secured a 40-35 W over the Monroe Academy Volunteers on Monday. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Volunteers, too.

Sparta Academy found their leader in sophomore Koltin Barlow, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Murfee Williams was another key player, putting up six points.

Sparta Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Sparta Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Monroe Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
