Softball Recap: Shadow Ridge Beats Desert Ridge for Their Fifth Straight Win

It's playoff time, and Shadow Ridge had no trouble coming through when it counted. They won by a run and slipped past the Desert Ridge Jaguars 6-5. Winning may never get old, but the Stallions sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Avery Mackey looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Liliana Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was McKayla Ethington, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Shadow Ridge pushed their record up to 17-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Desert Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Shadow Ridge nor Desert Ridge have any future games scheduled.
