Basketball Game Preview: Sanderson Spartans vs. Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders

Sanderson hasn't had much luck against Cardinal Gibbons recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Sanderson Spartans will host the Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sanderson is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were beaten by Leesville Road 69-25. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-17.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Gibbons came up short against Broughton on Monday and fell 66-56.

Sanderson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Sanderson was taken down by Cardinal Gibbons 68-13 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Sanderson, Kaylee Fitzsimmons (who made all 6 shots she took from beyond the arc racking up 20 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
