Recap: Sheldon Panthers vs. Exeter Tigers

The Sheldon Panthers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 38-34 win over Exeter on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Sheldon, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Sheldon got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wynsdae Connelly out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Connelly has scored all season. Mariam Lamb was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Sheldon's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Exeter, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon won't have much time to rest: their next match is against School of the Ozarks at 4:00 p.m. on February 3rd. School of the Ozarks is coming into the game with four straight wins on the road, so Sheldon is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Exeter, they will play host again and welcome Jefferson Independent Day, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
