Softball Game Preview: Andrew Thunderbolts vs. Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers

Andrew is 2-8 against Bradley-Bourbonnais since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Thunderbolts will take on the Boilermakers at 4:00 p.m. Andrew's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Bradley-Bourbonnais' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Andrew fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lincoln-Way Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Bradley-Bourbonnais earned a 6-3 win over Stagg on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Boilermakers.

The team relied heavily on Tristin Woods, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Bella Pusateri was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Bradley-Bourbonnais' victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Andrew, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Andrew came up short against Bradley-Bourbonnais when the teams last played back in April, falling 11-8. Can the Thunderbolts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
