Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Corona

The Centennial Huskies will venture away from home to face off against the Corona Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Centennial got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They had just enough and edged Roosevelt out 2-1. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Huskies were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Corona's contest on Tuesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Santiago. Considering the Panthers have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Corona's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matches. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-7-4.

Centennial came up short against Corona in their previous meeting on January 14th, falling 4-2. Can Centennial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
