Baseball Game Preview: Four Corners Coyotes vs. Bell Creek Academy Panthers

The Four Corners Coyotes will challenge the Bell Creek Academy Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Four Corners will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Four Corners got the win against Discovery by a conclusive 8-1. The Coyotes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jose Malave tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Four Corners let Quin Tromp and Favor Maithe run wild. Tromp scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Maithe went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Tromp is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stolen at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Yandriel Soto was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Bell Creek Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Victory Christian Academy on Thursday and fell 5-4.

Four Corners' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs over those games. As for Bell Creek Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
