Volleyball Game Preview: Atascocita Eagles vs. Deer Park Deer

The Atascocita Eagles will face off against the Deer Park Deer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Atascocita comes in on 15 and Deer Park on eight.

On Monday, Atascocita made easy work of Clear Creek and carried off a 3-0 win.

Atascocita not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Clear Creek between 18 and 21 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Deer Park earned a 3-1 victory over Stratford on Tuesday.

While Deer Park might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Stratford scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 24-26, 25-22.

Atascocita's record now sits at 26-7. As for Deer Park, their record is now 24-16.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Atascocita has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Deer Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Atascocita took their win against Deer Park in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
