Basketball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Marion can now relate to. They were beaten by the Norwell Knights 81-28 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Giants can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Knights are ranked 15th).

Despite the loss, Marion saw an underclassman step up: freshman Nyomi Hahn dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards. Hahn has been hot recently, having also posted three or more blocks the last three times she's played.

Marion has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Norwell, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-6.

Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Norwell, they have already played their next game, a 64-16 win against Mississinewa on the 7th.
